Illegal Aliens
Control the border, contain the problem
America has always been the land of opportunity and the best place in the world to realize your dreams. While the pursuit of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is bound only by the limitations of one's imagination, doing so in the United States should be a right reserved exclusively for legal U.S. citizens. Uncontrolled open borders--both Southern and Northern--pose a significant risk to our security and economy and cost us billions of dollars per year. If we are to continue being the land of the free and the home of the brave, then we must gain complete control over our borders.
Fixing this problem has three major components:
1. End the government-sponsored incentive programs that lure illegal immigrants here in the first place (mortgage assistance, in-state tuition, non-essential health, etc.),
2. Secure the borders, and
3. Establish a work-sponsor program that gives employers responsibility for any illegal immigrants that work for them.
This is a significant issue that impacts several aspects of the American way of life--from our economy to health care to national security, and beyond. Thus, it requires a comprehensive approach that involves common sense and realistically achievable goals to create a long-term, complete solution.
