Tell Me Your Story...Today!

Dave sharing his pocket Constitution with a supporter who found him at a rally, thanks to his blaze orange shirt!
Accountability for elected officials starts when the public has access to them. Unfortunately, too many career politicians would rather hide from the people than face them, particularly given the current economic climate, status of the health care debate, or situation with the War in Afghanistan.

Everyone has a story about how their life has been affected by these issues. These stories are not only important, but for our Constitution to work, people MUST have a direct link to Washington to tell them. Americans are fed up with decades of empty promises and no results. Find us and tell us your story--everyone on our campaign team is proud to wear blaze orange...we're proud to represent hard working Wisconsinites.

How well is blaze orange working for us?

Well, legions of folks from all over the state have clamored to our campaign, wearing their own blaze orange--declaring "I AM DAVE WESTLAKE." They do this because we don't represent "politics as usual" or hidden agendas--we represent you...we represent government of the people, by the people, and for the people.

Your stories are important. Accountability is important. Leadership is important. We look forward to hearing from you--we'll be easy to find...just look for blaze orange.

All my very best,
Dave
Fixing the Economy and Putting Americans Back to Work...NOW
Americans are Hurting--It's Time to get Serious About Fixing Our Economy
Career politicians like to frame our economy as being a hopelessly complex, intricate web of charts, graphs, data points, and other business-school level stuff that “common Americans” couldn’t possibly understand. Well, I hate to burst Washington’s bubble, but when I was in business school I learned that our economy is actually nothing more than a simple system of incentives and a relationship between supply and demand…and trust me, all of us “common Americans” DO understand this.

We don’t need another round of discussions to fix the economic mess we’re in—we need immediate action:

1. we need to cut income taxes (to somewhere around 15% for wage earners, and even lower for retirees), reduce corporate taxes, and create a tax holiday on all investments in small business start-ups at least through the end of 2010.

2. we need to make credit available to small businesses so they have the resources necessary to grow and create new jobs.

3. we need to stop Congress from deficit spending, bailing out failing companies, and running up even more debt that leaves us beholden to foreign investors for generations.

There you have it—simple, effective economic fixes that have long-term benefits with short-term implementation capabilities. If Washington REALLY wanted to get our economy back on track and put people back to work, they’d stop worrying about returning political favors and start empathizing with the pain all Americans are feeling. It’s tough here now…but with accountability and leadership we’ll get through these times and be stronger in the future.

After all…we’re Americans…that’s what we do.
